M3

I have to go to medieval times again. This is the last mission for medieval times. As I got to Europe a coboodle of people are watching a play that looked similair to those mystery plays my parents used to take me to. "Come to thy mystery play", a fool said."No thanks", I said feeling angry."Why is that", the fool said."My parents were clergyman", I said. "Great you're perfect for the next play we're doing", the fool said. "I'll think about it", I said while walking away. While going inside my home, I was thinking about my parents.

When I was a kid I felt poised when I was with my parents. Lots of people didn't know us, we were like "The Waltons go to Birmingham" The weird Waltons, yep that's us. I bring this up because my parents were performers. Dad always said "Making stew and putting ingredients together is just like the world putting different cultures and religions together. My parents performed in mystery plays. Mystery play are acting out bible stories. Clergyman are the actors in the mystery plays. The haunted part of my life is people at school laughed at me for being in plays. It wasn't the coolest job ever in Harrison High. Why bother being a performer like my parents.

Thinking back about my parents and remembering how happy they were when they did mystery plays. I realized that I'm just being stupid and thinking about myself. Doing a mystery play is a great idea. "I'll do it", I said to the fool. "Great" the fool said. "The play is about the birth of Jesus", said the fool. "And you will be the mother of Jesus" he said.

Mystery plays would include stories like "The Birth of Jesus", "The Wise Men" and "The Fight into Egypt". There were four or five short mystery plays in each presentation. Each presentation was broken up and staged all over town. The audience moved stage to stage. It was our turn to present the Birth of Jesus.

When the cast and I were done presenting the audience clamor showed me how much they loved it. My parents would have been proud of me. I would always try to dissuade myself into not doing mystery plays, but having something that makes my parents feel happy is great.

M2 Unknown Disease

"Is this the end of my life doctor?" I said while coughing continuously. I'm in Medieval Europe trying to fight back this disease called the Bubonic Plague. Your probably wondering what is the Bubonic plague? Well, the Bubonic plague also known as the black death is a well known disease in medieval times. I wasn't wishing to have this disease, but I guess things just happen. One morning while watching the ceiling a person came in with nerdy clothes and came inside my home asking questions me about he disease I have. The person was going was going to fast for my taste, so the doctor told him to back off.

While I was walking on the cold rough ground, someone started to cough like they had a fever. She dropped down unexpectedly to the ground. I tried to help her but she keep saying she was fine, so I went home. The next morning it got worse. Looking out in the narrow window a man wearing a surcoat was coughing the same way the woman was yesterday. People started to blame Jesus for this illness that is lowering the population of Europe, but what they didn't know was the truth.

Hazard times now. It was 1:00 pm only 2 inches from the bed, I started to feel dizzy. Next think I knew I was on my bed with a doctor beside me. I was coughing and coughing so much my throat hurt. The doctor told me what happened. He said he discovered the bacteria that caused the disease. The disease that the people had was carried by fleas that feed on the blood of infected rodents, like rats.
When the rats died that fleas jumped to other animals and people. When people heard the news citizen started to freak out. Men whipping themselves for their sins. Even women catching the blood from the men thinking the blood would not make them sick. The Black Death spread across Asia in the 1330s-1340s,  through Europe in 1346-1348, and to Egypt and Arabia in 1346-1351.

I'm still trying to fight this disease.  Vomiting, fierce coughing, sneezing fits and egg-sized swelling or bumps on the  body. These are all the symptom's or signs of the plague. Thinking while laying in my bed, I started to realize that I got myself sick from the girl I helped when I was walking. Now, I'm mad at that girl, but it's not her fault.

I was getting worse very second. I was thinking I was going to die. I didn't want to die like this. The candle light was getting dim. I woke up and saw people praying for me like we were in church. I thought that was helpful. It was customary to pray. The Roman Catholic Church was a huge part of medieval life. In 1351 my doctor came with a cure for the plague. Unfortunately a lot of people died but only some survived.
