My travels are leading me to a new journey of the time traveling. The Republic of Niger is the second largest country in West Africa and Africa's sixth largest county. The Nigerians languages distinguish the people of Niger. The languages are categorized into five language groups: the Hausa, the Djerma-Songhai, the Fulani, the Tuareg and the Kanouri.I tried to learn the language of the people , but I felt like a complete buffoon. In Niger the people I meet most Nigerians use the Hausa language in trade and in everyday life.People have different opinions about the Republic of Niger as I was traveling.
"I'm worried about our community in Niger".- Haman Diori.
"Our community needs to focus on the children, not the military".- A Nigerian woman holding three children
As a landlocked country, Niger does not have navy. Most of Niger's military equipment comes from France.
Niger, one of the poorest countries in the world, has experienced extreme drought, food shortages and increased desertification over the last 30 years. With the population of 16,468,886 people it seems that the food shortage is going better. NOT. Niamey,29 March 2011 more than half the population-7.8 million people-faced food shortages.
"It was the third food crisis in seven years", A Nigerien woman said holding her three children.
Desertification is one the main reasons that the food crisis is starting. The desert already occupies over 80% of Niger. The desertification is harming animals, making Nigerians sick and even die.
People might have seen on TV kids in need in Africa, Well it's true and they do need help. Red Cross has been bringing food to help, but they need money. Coming here makes me think.
Nice job using "Scurrying" it added to the effect.
